Evaluation

                                                             Evaluation

Evaluation: question 1) in what way does your music magazine, develop or challenge forms and conventions from other music magazines?

My music magazine conventions are challenging from other magazines. This is because I believe that I have done a suitable job of expression myself towards my music genre. The conventions of other magazine definable suits my magazine. my music magazine uses all the generic conventions which is suppose to be detailed on. My music magazine develops because it has links within other magazines, that you particularly look up too. Without looking and getting feedback from a different magazine I would have known how to develop on my magazine. having information gives you the idea to think and allows you to prepare yourself for your own magazine. this is because making a magazine straight away wouldn’t look professionally good, meaning that every person would of needed practice. I have applied bar codes/datelines such as other magazines which they present, this is because having a bar code representing your magazine will make target audiences wanting to buy it more. However I have also got idea of different magazine style within my genre blues, this is because blues doesn't use the colours pink or yellow meaning that I have to produce good details within the blues such as using the colour blue, black, red these are the colours which brings out the magazine of blues and allow the target audiences to see the information which is provided and the codes of development produced. With my magazine I have also researched about the ipc company and nme parent company this is because these companies will help me out with publishing my magazine, this is because they allow you to have a certain budget to use and express yourself within to the company to see if they will help you out and become successful. This is why parent companies are important for many things this is because they are big and everyone knows about them they do have a mass audience.
Question 2: how do your music magazine represent particular social groups?

Music magazine social groups are really important this is because they allow you to realise and interact within your social group of target audiences. My music magazine represents different social groups, this is because my target audiences are mostly based on male men meaning that people aged 35-55 showing that they are mature adults and could listen to music when they can. This links in with social groups within social class such as employed people and could be high class or even middle class, meaning that they are working and people still have a job. My music magazine links in within this so much, this is because it shows the importance of social groups and how it will effect my music magazine. I think all social group represents their group this is because they believe in certain area of stuff such as supporting the representation of magazine. they also link within this is because employed people going work usually travels and always reads newspapers which makes them interested into daily based life, such as picking up a newspaper always on their way to work, meaning that they could always pick up a cheap magazine and read it on their way to work. This is also more of an advantage because with music magazine you would gain information of whats going on and there is many stuff which you could learn about such as interfering with many activities and how it could be helpful for you. Music magazines usually provides target audiences with information so they could also feel happy even if they promote vouchers in a magazine, this is because most target audiences will love to have goodies that will make them pleased about it.

Question 3) what kind of music magazine institution might distribute your music magazine and why?

For my magazine I think a good institution has to distribute within my magazine because I have all the conventions which needed to be described on. For my magazine the most suitable institution I prefer is ipc media, this ks because it has a large portfolio all around and is big all around the uk. The reason being why ipc could distribute me is because it is big all around and it is also linked within with the NME, meaning that it could be successfully throughout. Showing that you are successful to the music institution you could distribute and this will make them extend and help you publish your magazine by giving you a certain budget and a certain time to show your skills of what you are doing. Ipc media is the leading consumer and digital publisher which has a massive portfolio to help people. The ipc media has wide target audience and if you are good enough they will provide you with enough equipments to do what you are suppose to them by publishing your own magazine and seeing how it is going to develop well. With the ipc media you have to show them that your good enough and that your target audiences will buy your magazine of you and then they will allow you with enough resources that will guide you throughout the distribution of institutions. Institutions helps music magazines a lot there is a wide variety to help and allow them to publish their work within many ranges. Institutions are all around the uk to help with. It is important that you identify the correct institution, this is because your own music institution will help you out within your working area not another company which does for example pop, meaning that we have to identify the institution correctly and wisely. Ipc media will also help my reputation and will give me a massive heads up within my publishing, this is because it will let your target audiences know whats going on and whats good when publishing. It is important that your institution helps you gain more target audiences, this is because when an institution publishes your work it will slowly slowly reach around the world and mostly shops which displays magazines all around so that people which is your target audiences will feel interested in your own music magazine. the benefits that this will have me choosing music institutions are that it will provide me with many resources to show what I could do to make the institution happy.

Question 4) who would be the audience for your music magazine?

For my magazine I am publishing the genre of blues, meaning that my magazine is aged between 25-55 this is because they are employed and have the capability to buy the music magazine which I am producing. The reason being why my audience is aged 35-55 is because the magazine blues isn't for the teenagers it is mostly for the mature adults which are introduced to the blues from before. My are audiences are mostly male men this is because they are more interested into the magazine of blues then teenagers males because they are mostly interested in the magazine for example RNB and different style of music. The reason being why my audience is male men is because they have more interest to blues and the old history from before they know about more. The reason being why I haven't said that my audience is tennegars is because young adults wouldn’t be interested in this sort of music. My audiences for this magazine is male men which is mature and employed, this is because male mens that are mature are more likely to follow up blues music and feel relaxed while they are listening to blues. picking the correct institution company  shows that that everything is on target. My target audience is suitable for magazine that I have produced and my target audience will find the music magazine interesting.

Question 5) how did you attract/ address your target audience?

From my magazine I have used effective colours and effective slogans of writing to attract my audience. The reason being for me to attract my audience was because, I have used effective description which was applied towards my work, meaning that everything is perfectly in control with target audiences. The way that I attracted my audience was because I knew the things that they like and attracted them with the information, which I have put on my magazine. secondary audience is important in this brief this is because it allows you too see how many people agrees with you and how many people dislikes the fact. With my secondary research of questionnaire, there was many questions to pick up from, this is because I have made my target audience fill in a questionnaire which attracts them with interfering with the music magazine. This addresses to my target audience, this is because they all support the reason of being a target audience. It also attracts my audience from the contents page and the double page spread. This is because it presents more information and allows them to follow up whats new in my music magazine. The reason being why it attracts them is because my magazine has different affects which is dependent on the music magazine. the use of affects has a massive impact to attract the target audiences because most people first looks at the colour of the magazine and then picks it up to read. The reason being for this is if the colour was dull no target audience would of went and looked through the magazine. the use of colours and affect attracts the audience to buy one and read through it. For example images makes magazines more interesting and important for most target audiences. This is because it gives colour to the whole piece of magazine meaning that this will make target audience buy the music magazine and this also allows the parent company to publish the magazine knowing this success it brang through. The ethnicity also attracts most target audiences this is because it is mostly aimed toward male mens which is black and some female which are also interested within the music genre of blues.
I have carried out an questionnaire as said, meaning that it is really important to see what is progressing throughout. This also shows how many people got involved within the questionnaire and how many people agreed and disagreed with certain questions. Looking at the questions most target audiences prefer to listen to the music of blues because they are interested in peaceful music.

Question 6) what have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing your music magazine?

In this course doing music magazines made us familiar with certain software programs such as photoshop and also getting introduce to cameras and tripods to take our pictures. Using photoshop for my magazine wasn’t quite easy because it wasn’t a software that I knew about. Using photoshop allowed me to access to many resources such as different uses of effects and changes to produce the final outcome from my work. With digital cameras I have learnt that it has more effective sequences, for example having a better view by focusing the camera to the photo frame of the person. The reason being using a camera was to understand the aim of a professional picture. By taking images for our magazine using a tripod will keep the camera steady and stable. This means that everything is professionally taken, the reason being for this is because there is high quality of the camera canon. The difficulties which I have came acrossed with was focusing the camera at start this is because I was introducing myself to the camera to learn different skills which was sequenced in the format of the camera. Knowing how to used the equitments didn’t cause me any other problems afterwards.

Using photoshop was really beneficial because you learn different techniques within how to use different mechanical gadgets. Photoshop was a good experience to find out where most things operate from and what skills you could require and manage on your musical magazine. At first I found photoshop difficult to cope with because it was a software that I wasn’t introduced too, however watching clips and focusing on classed lesson I have worked out how to use it in a appropriate and manageable way. Using photoshop for my music magazine was tricky because if you did make a mistake you would of needed to start again, but after many tries into the software, I found it very capable enough to interact with. I have cropped the picture so that I could focus on the image which I had to change and make it look professional enough towards my target audience. Photoshop had many gadgets to use from, which need practice to become perfect. Using all the gadgets made my final music magazine extremely good.
The importance of using this new technology made me develop on my skills and now that I have experienced a new technology software, means as a media student I would use photoshop more and gain more experience while I explore new technology.

Question 7) Looking back at your preliminary task, what do you feel you have learnt in the progression from it to the full music magazine product?

In the hand drawn design I managed to draw my magazines final magazine drafts. The main aim for me drawing this out is that it is giving a brief idea on how my magazine is laid out and how it is presented towards my target audience.
I am confident with different softwares which I wasn’t familiar with at start, the reason being why I have gained experiences of learning this softwares was practice. With my drafts of my magazine, there is a huge differences between my new finalised music magazine. The reason being for this is gaining more experiences moves you towards success by practicing the tools which is on there. With these tools I have changed my magazine and it made my final music magazine stand out.
The drafts which I have done and progressed through was a good idea for me to change my music magazine around, the codes and conventions are beneficial because I have used many effects to suit my genre and to give a fantastic outcome towards my target audience.

I have made a successful magazine; the reason being for this is that at first I knew I struggled due to different software, which I had to learn. The most thing I enjoyed was challenging myself for different genres. My layouts could have been more explained well and I could have improved on changing different tools around to the correct format on Photoshop. The main thing, which I have learnt, was going through difficult structures made me realise the importance of the whole magazine. This was the first time being introduced to a professional software.

my music magazine is now successful, This is because i have completed my finalised work piece of photographic commentary. Compare to my Drafts my final magazine looks professional and important to be presented in a conventional manner. However with my double page spread i have used appropriate format and use of colours to suit within my genre, this is successful because it suits my target audience and stands out to readers. therefore with my content page, the use of image and the effect made my work look completely finalised to a outstanding manner. i think that my final magazine is presented in a fantastic manner and i know that it will be effective towards my target audience.
